Surplus Income Calculator
Use this tool to calculate "surplus income"
What is surplus income?
Surplus Income is a calculation that is based on "Standards" provided by the Superintendent of Bankruptcy. In essence the idea is that every family needs a basic amount of money to lead an average Canadian lifestyle - families that earn more than the allowable amount are deemed to have "surplus income" some of which may (subject to mediation) be available to their creditors.
By completing the white cells, using information from the budget tool, you will arrive at an estimate of your monthly surplus income payable (if any). If you feel that there is an error in the calculation talk to Tom - it could be the result of infromation not being properly input.
