MORE DEBT CONSULTANTS THAN YOU CAN SHAKE A STICK AT!

September 5, 2017

I received a call from a banker asking me “if it would be advisable to refer a client to a debt consultant company” that appears online with no address, no office, no identified staff, just an online presence with a toll free number and a whole bunch of promises.

Has the world gone stark raving mad?

If I put up a flashy website promising you “freedom from debt, guaranteed results, no bankruptcy required, no legal proceedings, new government programmes” – just send me your money!    Would you?

Common sense should dictate that this is a scheme or a scam.

Did you get an email telling you that your great uncle in Nigeria has just died leaving a billion dollars in trust all you need to do is send your banking and credit card information to claim your share of the inheritance.  I’ll bet dollars to donuts that you have had those emails – I have – did you send the requested information?  Did you get your inheritance?

How about the email from “the Revenue Department” telling you that you have an unclaimed tax refund?  Did you buy that?  Did you send your banking information to get the “refund“?

Are you on facebook?  Perhaps you have had friend requests from lovely, lonely, single Russian girls/guys – looking for marriage.  Did you respond to them?   Did you send some money to help out with their desperate plight?

 If you have responded affirmatively to having participated in any of the above you need to follow these directions very carefully:

  1. Go to your nearest hardware store;
  2. Locate the paint department;
  3. Ask the person in charge to clamp your head into the paint shaker and set the timer for twenty minutes. (that should do it)

If you’re not feeling better and starting to get your brain unscrambled you might as well just start randomly giving away all of your worldly possessions.

Alright so you get the point and have a bit of a laugh but in all seriousness, getting out of debt doesn’t have to be difficult but it does need to be legal and proper.  Trustees in Bankruptcy are well trained, they are licensed and regulated by the Federal Government to administer the ONLY Federal Government programmes that will get you out of debt!

For better service, keep it local!
